Aysegul Aydın

Transdisciplinary conceptual artist born in Stuttgart in 1975, lives between Istanbul and Venice. She has participated in artistic workshops in Italy, Germany and Turkey. Her background in environmental engineering has created a distinctive language in her works, synthesizing scientific methodology and aesthetic expression. Her visions, developed through her engineering training, quantum physics and philosophical thought, constitute the center of her creative process that utilizes different expressive languages, including body language. Her research is articulated through various mediums, both conceptual and material, in relation to space, time and the self. She creates her works in a minimal way through processes of re/de/construction of temporal existence according to mathematical principles, transforming the idea into a universal identity. In her recent works, quantum theories have become a focal point, while productions based on vibration and sound emerge significantly. The artist combines the concepts of existence, time and space with quantum physics, mathematics and algorithms, offering the audience new perceptual experiences. Her works include texts, videos, photos, audiovisual works and sound art.
